Instructor: Marion Karol

Marions love affair with knitting began at the age of 8, learning from her Oma at their family cottage. Since then, knitting has become an integral part of her daily life, with hardly a day passing without her picking up her needles to create something beautiful. Fearless and adventurous in her knitting endeavors, Marion often dives into projects, only to discover the need for new skills midway through – a challenge she embraces wholeheartedly.

As an avid knitter, Marion finds joy in introducing others to the craft, sharing her expertise in knitting techniques, colors, exquisite yarns, and captivating patterns. Her passion for vibrant hues and luxurious yarn textures led her to venture into yarn dyeing, culminating in the founding of One Stitch More in 2020. Transitioning from her previous roles as an engineer and Compliance Officer, Marion now pours her energy into dyeing yarn, making it her primary business while continuing to inspire knitters with her colorful creations.

Description: Join us for an immersive workshop at Muskoka Yarn & Fibrefest, where you'll delve into the art of Continental Knitting! Discover the versatile technique of holding yarn in your left hand, perfect for seasoned knitters seeking to broaden their skills or newcomers eager to learn. Continental Knitting is particularly advantageous for intricate stranded or colorwork projects, offering a faster and more efficient approach than traditional methods.

What to Bring: Please bring a pair of 4 mm needles and yarn suitable for practicing Continental Knitting. We'll aim to complete a small washcloth-type item during the session, so ensure you have enough yarn for the project.

While familiarity with knit and purl stitches is recommended, this workshop caters to enthusiasts at all levels. Whether you're a novice or seasoned knitter, you'll leave feeling more adept and inspired in your craft.
