Give Your Favourite Garments New Life
Join us at the Mending Mixer, a beginner-friendly workshop led by Elysha of Worth Mending. This hands-on session will teach you how to mend, patch, and repair your knitwear to extend its life and showcase your creativity. Whether you love visible mending or prefer a subtle finish, you’ll leave with practical skills to fix your garments with confidence.
In this intensive session, you will learn a variety of mending techniques including woven darning, Scotch darning, Swiss darning, re-knitting, and simple embroidery like lazy daisies. Elysha will guide you through each method, helping you find the right repair style for your project — whether bold or invisible.
What to Bring:
Up to three garments to mend (pairs like socks or mittens count as one item). Hand-knit or crochet items are encouraged, but any knitwear is welcome!
Yarn scraps that match the weight and fibre of your garments. This is a perfect chance to use your leftovers and odds-and-ends.
Basic tools: darning needle, crochet hook, snips, safety pins, or stitch markers. We will also have tools and yarn available to borrow if needed.
Learn how to mend your knitwear, save your favourite pieces from the landfill, and add unique character to every stitch. Whether you're fixing socks, sweaters, or hats, the Mending Mixer will give you the skills to make your wardrobe last for years to come.
