Cactus Yarn Studio — 2026 Vendor

Small-Batch Hand-Dyed Yarn from Gatineau, Quebec

Meet Céline Cléroux of Cactus Yarn Studio

Céline of Cactus Yarn Studio is making the five-plus hour drive from Gatineau, Quebec to be with us at Fibrefest — and her booth is worth seeking out.

Richly Layered Colourways on Canadian-Processed Bases

Céline works with professional acid dyes and high-quality Canadian-processed bases, primarily merino and merino-nylon blends at fingering weight, dyed in small batches. The colourways she’s known for are rich and deeply layered — built up in multiple passes for intensity and depth. Tonals, semi-solids, and variegated colourways that reward a longer look.

Painted Sock Blanks & Ready-to-Cast-On Kits

One of the techniques Céline works with is painting on sock blanks — knitted fabric used as a canvas for acid dye work, a format she has made distinctly her own. She also puts together kits with fun packaging, ready to cast on before you’ve left the Fibrefest.
