A Business With a Story as Good as the Products

Big Blue Moma is one of those businesses with a story behind it that’s as interesting as the products themselves.

From Ghana to Your Home

Karie — a textile artist — took a trip to Ghana in 2012 and came home transformed by the handwoven baskets being made in the Bolgatanga region. What started as a small import idea became a full business employing over 360 weavers in the region, operating as a conscious business that buys directly from the artisans at fair prices.

Handwoven Bolga Baskets — Practical Works of Art

The baskets are as functional as they are beautiful — market shoppers, shoulder bags, storage hampers, pet beds, and tabletop pieces. Each one is handwoven and slightly different, with handles reinforced in goat leather. No two are exactly alike.
